The Little Pine Tree

A Story of a Lonely Pine Tree and a Little Boy

Does God Have Have a Plan for Me?

nature_trees_autumn_season_alone_roads_m15122The pressures of life begin gnawing at us from the time we’re born. While some are born with incredible gifts or talents (which allow them to avoid many problems) we all look for ways to escape them. So while focussing on solutions our attention is averted from the purpose we may truly have, God’s plan. The little pine tree questioned his purpose, set apart from all the other trees in the forest. He was faced with troubles that seemed insurmountable. Problems that seemed to have no purpose at all and  that only  made him sad.

Is that how it is for you? If it is, it doesn’t have to be. You can rest during tough times, no matter how difficult. You don’t have to find your own way out of your problems. Sure, you may fall out of favor with associates, friends and family but in order to see the plan God has for your life you have to let go and trust Him.

The words of a 40 year old song come to mind as I’m writing this today. They may be familiar to you as well, written by Carole King.

“If the sky above you should turn dark and full of clouds and that old north wind should begin to blow, keep your head together and call my name out loud. Soon I will be knocking upon your door”

Jesus could  very well have written these words, as a matter of fact I believe He did in Jeremiah 33:3. So stop wondering about God’s will or plan for your life. Just stop trying to create a life absent of things that cause pressure. Just keep your head together and call His name out loud, Jesus.  Because you’re one of His, he’ll hear you and soon He’ll come knocking upon your door, leading you in the way, into the plan He has for you.
